              Indian Origin Dr.Sangeeta Bhatia receives Heinz Award which comprise of 250,000 US Dollars.

Dr.Sangeeta Bhatia developed artificial human micro livers for pharmaceutical drug testing. This invention will reduce number of animal being sacrificed for drug testing.

Dr.Sangeeta Bhatia active in the area of tissue engineering and nanotechnology since long time. She is Director, Laboratory for Multiscale Regenerative Technologies at MIT,Cambridge and Investigator, Howard Hughes Medical Institute. She did her M.D from Harvard Medical School in 1999.
